Accra, Aug. 29, GNA “ Accra Hearts of Oak has bolstered their squad for next season with the capture of midfielders, Abdul Rahim Ayew and Sampson Cudjoe.
Ayew, 25, the eldest son of Ghana legend Abedi ˜Pele™ Ayew has joined the Phobians on a two-year contract as a free agent whilst Cudjoe, also, 25 has penned a three year deal.
The two players wrapped up the deals after passing medicals on Thursday afternoon at the Ridge Hospital, Accra. However, financial details of their contract remain sketchy.
A highly placed source told GNA Sports that Hearts coach David Duncan has been impressed with the output of the duo at training, and readily informed Management to formalize their stints.
The two players remain the biggest catch of the Phobians, unusually quiet on the transfer market this term.
Ayew and Cudjoe will boost the Hearts midfield that already has the likes of Moro Abubakar, Stephen Tetteh, Kofi Abanga and Ollenu Ashitey amongst others.
The eldest Ayew is making a return to the local scene after an unsuccessful spell abroad. The midfielder had a nightmarish stint with Egyptian giants, Zamalek during the 2009-2010 season before injury blighted his two-year stay with Belgian top flight, SK Lierse.
Cudjoe, on the otherhand is a veteran of the local game and is having a reunion with Duncan after the latter left AshantiGold in 2011. He had successful spells with defunct Kessben FC and until recently Medeama as well as a loan-tenure with FC Honka in Finland in 2008.
