The Minister made the commendation when he hosted WVG and its partners from Korea, World Vision Korea, at his residence at the Regional Coordinating Council at the weekend.
He cited numerous projects including the two drip irrigation projects and the sheanut plant established by WVG for the people of Bongo as well as the construction of schools, boreholes and the provision of sanitation facilities to schools in its operational areas in the Region.
The NGO is operating in the Garu-Temapne, Bawku West, Talensi, Kassena-Nankana West and East, and the Bongo Districts in the Region.
The Regional Minister said the development of every community and the nation was fundamentally the responsibility of government but government alone could not shoulder the huge task.
He said government would require all stakeholders such as WVG to be on the development wagon and added that the Municipal and District Chief Executives in whose districts WVG was operating had informed him about the numerous people benefiting from WVG livelihoods programmes.
Alhaji Mohammed-Muniru paid tribute to the NGO for forming children™s clubs in some schools with emphasis on nurturing them with the right attitudes against bad peer influence.
He urged the NGO to continue to support government in its quest to bring peace to conflict prone areas in the country.
He appealed to the teaming youth and the marginalised in society to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the NGO to better their lot and commended World Vision Korea for supporting WVG to implement its programmes, adding that government would continue to create an enabling atmosphere for foreign partners to go about their businesses smoothly.
The Bolgatanga Operation Based Team Leader of WVG, Madam Benedicta Pealore, thanked the Regional Minister and the traditional rulers in the Region for creating an enabling environment for her outfit to operate.
She said WVG would continue to work in partnership with the Regional Coordinating Council, the Municipal and Districts Assemblies and the people at the grass roots to bring about development and told the Minister that the Advisory Committee Members of World Vision Korea were in the Region to inspect projects being implemented by her outfit.
The National Director of WVG, Mr. Charles Hubert, said WVG main focus was to change the status “quos of children by training them to be nurtured into good citizens.
