The Club’s President, Mr Ignatius Afrifa, said the operation of Eye Centre, which was built by the Club, was in line with its main core activity.
He said the donation was to help people who could not afford spectacles anytime the Hospital goes on outreach programmes.
Mr Afrifa said maintenance of the eye centre was the Club’s responsibility, adding that as part of the refurbishment of the eye centre, the entire building was painted, wall of the Out-Patients Department tiled and the building re-roofed at a cost of GH¢ 45, 000.
The President said the renovation was done to make the place comfortable for the health workers and the patients.
The Director of TGH, Dr Charity Sarpong who received the items, thanked the Club and appealed to it to look beyond the eye centre and support the hospital in other areas.
