Obuasi, July 20, GNA - Evangelist Dag Heward-Mills, an International Evangelist said with good leadership God can restore the fortunes of the gold mining town of Obuasi.
\"God can restore the fortunes of Obuasi through a great leader,\" he said when he paid a courtesy call on the Obuasi Municipal Chief Executive, John Alexander Ackon at the weekend.
Evangelist Heward-Mills who is the founder of Lighthouse Chapel at North Kaneshie in Accra, was in Obuasi for a five-day power-packed crusade christened \"Healing Jesus Crusade\" at the forecourt of Len Clay Stadium.
The courtesy call which came at the last day of the crusade, was graced by the presence of the leadership of the Municipal Assembly, the Adansi Traditional Council, the Obuasi Union of Churches and the International Advisory Board of Healing Jesus Crusade.
\"I believe that a Wiseman can save Obuasi from the superior enemy,\" he said, adding that he was hopeful the wisdom of the Municipal Chief Executive could offer the needed leadership Obuasi needs.
Commenting on the declining employment situation at AngloGold Ashanti Mine, Evangelist Heward-Mills said everything was for a season on this earth, and urged the people of Obuasi to take to Jesus Christ, and to turn away from idol worship.
The Municipal Chief Executive said the unemployment situation in Obuasi was quite challenging and called for the collective efforts of all in addressing it.
He was happy about the unity of Christians in the municipality and commended the formation of the Obuasi Union of Churches which he said facilitated the holding of the Healing Jesus Crusade.
On the crusade itself, which witnessed a number of healing miracles, Mr Ackon said the over 280,000 people who thronged the crusade grounds on Wednesday represented an unprecedented attendance in the history of Healing Jesus Crusade.
Nana Sarfo Agyeman III, Ahensanhene, who represented the Acting President of the Adansi Traditional Council, noted that Obuasi was going to be cured of all diseases at the end of the crusade.
