Dramani Mahama has expressed shock and deep sorrow about the untimely death of
former Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah Arthur.
“I learnt about the untimely demise of my brother and friend, Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah Arthur, with shock and deep sorrow,” Former President Mahama said in a statement on Thursday.
He said as a Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Mr Amissah-Arthur actively supported my administration to put Ghana on the path of sustainable socioeconomic growth and development.
Former President Mahama described Mr Amissah-Arthur as an admirable personality in both Ghana and in the NDC because he served with distinction in the many roles he played in the development of our country.
“Paa Kwesi was a quintessential gentleman, who brought immense knowledge, decency and integrity to governance and public service. His passing has left a huge void in our nation and we are overwhelmed with grief,” he added.
Former President Mahama extended his deepest condolences to the wife, Mrs. Matilda Amissah- Arthur and the children as well as the extended family.
