Wor-Lumor Konor Borketey Laweh Tsuru, Gborbu Wulomo (Shitse) in his inaugural address said the work of the committee would go down in the history of Gadangme if the suitable individual is initiated into the Gborbu Temple for the final rites leading to the enstoolment of a legitimate Ga Mantse to be performed.
He said after the demise of the late Nii Amugi, the Ga Mantse, the installation of his successor has been fraught with problems leading to multiple enstoolments of various claimants to the Ga Mashie stool.
“Certain groups and individuals have taken advantage of the situation to perpetuate violence and this has led to the loss of human, material and financial resources,” the Wor-Lumor Konor said.
He said: “A case in point is the alleged attack on Nuumo Larkotey Aduawoshie recently which left him seriously injured, the destruction of property and the seizure of the Ga Mantse Palace which led to the timely intervention of the security services.”
Wor-Lumor Konor Borketey Laweh Tsuru urged all parties involved in the conflict to exercise restraint and cooperate with the committee in order to find a lasting solution to the various litigations.
He said the committee would welcome any contributions and suggestions that would enhance its work and the sittings of the committee would be behind closed doors to guarantee confidentiality.
He said the “Homowo Kplejo” festivals are just some few months away and there is the need for peace and brotherliness to celebrate the festival.
