Asakyiri Family donates land for hospital

Adamorobe (E/R), March 31, GNA The Odjobi Aduamoah Asakyiri Family of Adamorobe in the Eastern Region has donated about six acres of land for the construction of a hospital.

Abusuapayin Ohene Moses, Head of family, said the offer was to ensure that a hospital was built in the area either by the Government or a Non-Governmental Organisation.

The family head, who is also the Vice-Chairman of the Progressive Peoples Union (PPU), a development oriented association, said the construction of the hospital would alleviate the suffering of the people who travelled far to seek medical care.

Mr Odum Mensah, President of the PPU, said the Union, which had over 100 members, was ready to support any philanthropist who would support the construction of the hospital to reduce mortality in the area.

Mr Joseph Odartey, Chairman of the PPU, said other families in the area had pledged to give out lands for more development projects.

He appealed to the Government to take up the rehabilitation of the road from Oyibi through Adamorobe to Aburi Jamaicaso in the Eastern Region to lessen the plight of the people.

Mr Ntow Adarkwah Yiadom, Secretary of PPU, called on Adamorobe citizens residing outside to support the development initiatives of the Union to revamp the town.

Mr Joseph Okyere, Assemblyman of the area, commended Abusuapayin Ohene Moses for the land and called on others to emulate the gesture.

He appealed to the South Akuapem District Assembly and Mr Osei Bonsu Amoah, Member of Parliament, to come to their aid.
