Environmental Officer urges students to be agents of change

Techiman (B/A), Nov. 29, GNA “ Mr Abdul Karim Issifu-Seidu, Techiman Municipal Environmental Health Officer has called on pupils and students to be agents of the assembly to change the general public perception of environmental cleanliness.

He said waste management had become a serious threat facing the municipality with most of the open drains chocked with garbage.

Mr Issifu-Seidu made the call when pupils and students from 21 Islamic schools under the Techiman Islamic Education Unit embarked on a clean-up exercise within the municipality as part of their Islamic Education Week celebration.

It is on the theme śPromoting Discipline and Sound Moral Training Among Studentsť.

Mr Ibrahim Asare, Techiman Municipal Manager of Islamic Education Unit urged parents to offer their children the needed training in life to become responsible citizens in future.

He expressed concern about early marriage for girls and advised parents to refrain from it and allow their girls achieve their aims in life through education.
