Live beyond reproach, Apostle Mensah admonishes pastors

By Iddi Yire, GNA

Accra, Dec. 3, GNA - Apostle Joseph Felix Kwesi Mensah, the Chairman of the Great Commission Church International (GCCI), has called on pastors to live above reproach, so that their lives would bring glory and honour to God.

He said scandals or inappropriate behaviour of a pastor would bring shame to God and the Church.

Apostle Mensah said this recently to six newly ordained pastors of the GCCI.

The ordination ceremony took place in Accra at the climax of the 29th Ghana General Council of the GCCI held under the theme: "Imitating Christ in the Work of the Ministry".

The newly ordained pastors include reverends: Michael Amoako, Peter Jack Anani, Justice Attom, Benjamin Horla, Daniel Lamptey and Emmanuel Osae Kwakye.

Apostle Mensah, who said God requires pastors to have a high reputation in the society, cautioned them against sexual immorality, greed and the love of money.

Apostle Professor Samuel Asuming-Brempong, the Chairman, GCCI Ghana National Council, said the calling of God is the best work to do on this earth; declaring that " blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on, for they will rest from their labour, for their works will follow them."

He urged the leadership of the GCCI to adhere to its core values, namely Christlikeness, Finishing the Task of World Evangelism and Making Disciples, who Make Disciples, and Planting Churches that Plant Churches.
