Nkawie (Ash) Nov. 7, GNA – Five people who engaged in a brawl during a misunderstanding at Abuakwa-Mim in the Atwima-Nwabiagya South Municipality of Ashanti, have been remanded into prison custody for disturbing public peace.
Ali Mohammed, 29 Mason, Baba Kasim, 46
Driver, Baba Alhassan 26 Driver's Mate, Razak Issah, 28 Driver's Mate and Osman
Zakari, 18, Mason, pleaded not guilty to the charges and would make their next
appearance in court on November 19, this year.
Prosecuting, Police Inspector Ruth Gborson
told the Court presided over by Mr Michael Johnson Abbey that, Ali and Kasim
lived in the same house and shares a common boundary with Alhassan and Osman,
who lived in a house next door.
She said soil erosion had created a trench
in between the two houses and on June 4 this year, Ali dug a foundation to
build a fence wall for his house, but Alhassan and Osman covered it and this
triggered a fight.
Prosecution said, Razak and another
neighbour, who went to separate the fight, were drawn into it, when Razak was
pushed down by one of them.
Ali and Razak then reported the case to the
Nkawie Police, who arrested all five persons involved and after investigations
charged all with the offence.
