Accra, Oct.31, GNA - The Atinka Media Village (AMV) on Wednesday launched a 13-week gospel show band reality contest dubbed "Kronkron” in Accra to groom talent within biblical music fraternity.

The reality show, "Kronkron" is aimed at nurturing a spirit filled and word-based bands who will offer a true quality worship to God and to reveal the truth about God in worship.

The worship-based centred singing competition is to create platform for bands to praise God, entertain audience and compete for prises.

Mr Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, the Managing Director of AMV, said the new reality show was the brainchild of Mr Samuel Amo Tobbin, the Executive Chairman of the Tobinco Group of Companies.

Mr Dwumfour said judges would hold 40 per cent of the total scores while 60 per cent would be based on public voting.

He said the overall winner of the maiden edition of “Kronkron” would take home a set of musical instruments and GH¢10,000.00 cash while first runner up and second runner up would walk away with GH¢10,000.00 and GH¢5,000.00 cash respectively.

The remaining five finalists, thus, from the fourth to eighth position would each win for themselves, GH¢2000.00.

He said the band would perform before a live audience and judges, adding that the show would start with an audition from the coming Sunday from 1600hrs to 1900hrs on Atinka TV.

Reverend Pious Agyemang, one of the judges for the show, urged the registered bands to ensure that they delivered on the essence of the competition, which is centred on adoration and praise, adding that, any content apart from that is a secondary matter and would not go far.

He said judges would look out for style of the music, the voice quality, diction, appearance of singers, the artistic acumen and spirituality of the performance.

Mr Roland Affail Monney, President of the GJA, said it was commendable that a media house could initiate such an innovative programme to entertain its teeming audience through worship.

He said he was of the firm belief that the programme would qualitatively transform the form of entertainment on most media platforms.

He urged the audience not to miss the show as music is a renewing source of energy common for everyone in the world – without any boarders.
