Highlife legend installed Okyeredomhene of Agogo

Agogo (Ash), Feb 27, GNA – Highlife legend, Dan Amakye Dede, alias “Abrantie Amakye Dede”, has been installed as the Okyeredomhene of the Agogo Traditional Area.

He has been given the stool name, Barima Okyeredom Amakye Dede.

A huge crowd of politicians and celebrities thronged the Agogo Palace to add color and grandeur to his swearing-in ceremony.

He pledged to focus on helping to bring progress and make things better for people in the traditional area.

In line with this, he was going to make sure that their “Akogya festival”, which had not been celebrated for so many years and virtually moribund, was revived - given a new lease of life, to showcase their rich culture.

That, he noted, could tremendously assist to boost tourism and create wealth for the people.

Barima Amakye Dede said he would also provide the traditional council with a bus to aid the movement of the chiefs.

Nana Akuoko Sarpong, the Omanhene, reminded him to continue to carry himself with dignity to protect the image of the chieftaincy institution.

The expectation was that he would always put the general good of the traditional area at the heart of the thinking and everything he did.
