Accra, Aug. 29, GNA “ Mr Mahama Ayariga, Minister of Information and Media Relations said on Thursday that Government has welcomed the judgement of the Supreme Court in the matter of the 2012 Election Petition.
A statement signed by Mr Mahama Ayariga, Minister of Information and Media Relations said: œIt is the view of Government that the Supreme Court™s decision is a victory for our democracy and strengthens the rule of law in Ghana.
It said: "President John Dramani Mahama, the Commander-In-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces will broadcast to the nation at 7pm tonight."
The statement said Government entreats Ghanaians to accept the verdict in good faith and act in a manner that would enhance Ghana™s credentials as a land of peace and stability.
It said: œAs we continue to thank the Almighty for the many blessings he has bestowed on our nation; Government humbly request our Muslim and Christian leaders to devote Friday, Saturday and Sunday for prayers for continued peace and national reconciliation.
