Accra, Nov. 7, GNA - The Government of the
Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) would improve the working conditions of the
personnel of the Ghana Police Service to maintain law and order in the country.
It would embark on housing scheme through public-private partnership to ensure decent accommodation for all police personnel.
The police personnel would be made to pay for the houses in instalment until they own them, as part of their retirement package.
Mr John Amekah, the acting National Chairman of the Party, told the Ghana News Agency in Accra that, the Party would create a positive image for the Police Service.
To achieve that feat, he said, an LPG government would embark on in-service training across the country to re-orient the mindset of all police personnel.
It would also make conscious efforts to improve police-civilian relations towards fighting crime in society.
