Mr Nicholas Waake, District Chief Executive, made this known when the Assembly disbursed GHÈ»10,000.00 to 33 teacher trainees to support their training at the Bimbilla E.P Training College of Education at Bimbilla in Nanumba North District of Northern Region.
He said each student who benefit from the support would sign a bond of three years to stay in the district.
He announced that the Assembly has earmarked GHÈ»60,000.00 to support teachers and nursing trainees for them to pursue their courses in various educational and health institutions nationwide.
Mr Waake said the Assembly has also supported 247 People With Disabilities GHÈ»30,000.00 to improve on their living standards by establishing their own business.
The Assembly is constructing an administration block for the Tatale E.P Agriculture Senior High School, three- classroom block for Sachilibu D.A Primary School and three- classroom block for Christian Heritage Primary School in Tatale.
It has also constructed three- classroom block for Nachemba â„–.1 Primary School funded from the District Development Fund.
Touching on the health sector the District Chief Executive indicated that the Assembly is renovating the District Health Management Team office Block at Tatale, as well as Kpalibutabu Clinic.
Mr Waake said a small town water system project is under construction at Tatale under the NORST project while a two- 10 seater KVIP is being completed in Tatale, with funding from the District Assembly Common Fund, and a programme on Community Led Total Sanitation, which is striving to stem open defecation.
Obor Kabulija Kumanyi, Chief of Tatindo, who represented the teacher trainees, thanked the Assembly on behalf of his colleagues for the support.
