Koforidua, Jan. 31, GNA - The out-going Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Antwi-Boasiako Sekyere has presented relief items to 146 students of Oti Boateng Senior High School who lost their items when the boys dormitory burnt down on Friday.
The items donated to the students include 150 students mattresses, 150 blankets, 150 drinking cups, 300 plastic plates, 30 cartons of soap, two bales of used clothing, 15 bags of sugar, 15 cartons of milo, 15 cartons of milk and 10 bags of gari.
The Regional Minister urged the students to calm down and go about their studies and assured them of full government support.
He said as future leaders of the country, it is the desire of government to give them all the needed support to enable them grow to become useful citizens to the country.
He said government would carry out its promise to rebuild the dormitory in addition to other facilities.
The School Prefect, Master Francis Twum thanked the Regional Minister for the support.
The Headmistress of the school, Ms Ama Adu-Labi took the out-going Regional Minister and his entourage including the incoming Regional Minister who is currently the Deputy Eastern
Regional Minister, Ms Ama Frimpong, the New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Kwabena Okyere-Kusi and the Eastern Regional Coordinator of National Disaster Management Organisation, Mr Ransford Boakye round the burnt dormitory and part of the kitchen of the school that was affected by the fire.
